CCGS students benefit from our unique, deep, community-wide international programs with schools and communities in China, Japan, USA, Canada, Cambodia, Wales, Ireland and Germany. There are a wide range of opportunities to travel and host, building lifelong friendships.
Unique Reciprocal Exchange Program
This is a fantastic opportunity to live in another culture, school and family and welcome a student from that family into your family, our school and Australian culture. The program lasts a year, usually during Year 10. We welcome your partner students in Terms 1 to 3 and our students travel in Term 4.
Participants experience and develop:
- Personal growth and independence, easing transition to post-school life.
- Resilience to overcome problems without their usual network.
- Enhanced understanding of diverse cultures and community perspectives.
- Flexibility to adapt to different learning styles and subjects in other schools.
- Capacity to build ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ intercultural relationships.
Our program is unique, you’re not entering just any school or family, you’re part of a much bigger network of relationships nurtured by our Coordinator of International Programs over decades in many cases. It’s not too hard to buy an international study or humanitarian tour and stay with a volunteer, but it’s priceless and so much more authentic to be connected to our school’s network of longstanding relationships.
Of course the whole CCGS student community benefits from the cultural diversity that comes from learning alongside international students.
Cambodia Service Program
This program teaches gratitude, an understanding of the imbalance in our world and what a profound and ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ impact you can have on the lives of others. The program is a year-long program of fundraising and global awareness where Year 11 students take the initiative to raise funds to build around 5 houses with the Volunteer Building Cambodia, then travel to remote villages in Cambodia to build them.
Relationships have matured over a decade so students and teachers from now come to Australia to study at CCGS and live with our school families.
International Tours
Over recent years sport, science, performing arts, outdoor education and cultural tours have ventured to France, Japan, China, Hawaii, Singapore, England, New Zealand and the USA. These tours get students really excited about learning right across the curriculum.
We also host many international school rugby, hockey and netball tours. Our sports teams experience the thrill of competing against international competition and the friendship of welcoming their opponents into their family homes.
The schools’ performing arts culture is enriched by embracing tours like our Performing Arts Tour to the UK, where students embarked on a remarkable journey to experience dance and musical theatre classes at renowned studios.

Teacher Exchange
We encourage teacher exchange, bringing fresh thinking about teaching into our learning community.
